Multiblock Linocut with Lisa Takahashi Two Day Course
Join us for two fantastic days of linocut printmaking with guest tutor Lisa Takahashi
Suitable for beginners and those seeking a refresher.
The multi-block linocut printmaking process involves cutting a separate lino block for each colour of an image and printing them on top of one another to build the picture in layers. This two day workshop will be an opportunity to try the process out and get to grips with every stage of the process.
On day one you will be introduced to the materials and tools you'll be working with and advised on ways to get the best out of them. We will spend time designing prints and considering the best colours and textures for expressing your idea, before cutting our blocks ready for printing.
On day two you will have a day of exploring colour and printing techniques, with opportunities to try colour blends, ways to add texture and compare different versions of the same print. You will go home with an A5 linocut print and two blocks that you can use again, either in the studio or at home.
