Artificial Ruin - Molly Erin McCarthy
Molly Erin McCarthy’s sharing event for the end of her Residency at Rame Projects, Maker Heights, Cornwall
Join us for ‘Artificial Ruin’, Molly Erin McCarthy’s end of residency sharing event.
'Artificial Ruin' will comprise work developed during Molly’s residency, building on research collected through archives, conversations and walking explorations of Maker Heights and the surrounding area.
The work highlights the layered histories of the site, drawing attention to the correlation between it’s past and present and the current issues faced by its community. Stories are speculatively weaved through text, sound and artifacts to form an imagining of a far-flung, future Maker that asks what could happen ‘if this goes on…’
///////////////////////////////
On the final day of ‘Artificial Ruin’ artist & sound practitioner Carly Seller will perform a series of sound baths responding to the landscape of Maker and the themes of Molly’s residency.
Taking place in Grenville Battery (Redoubt No. 4), a grade II listed structure & designated Scheduled Monument, these sound baths are an opportunity to engage with this historic landmark in a new, exciting way.
