Meet the Makers: Recipes for Making
Join us for an evening of conversation, creativity and celebration.
Throughout the evening, there will be makers’ talks from graduating artists and designers, offering insight into their processes, ideas and practices. This year’s Meet the Makers speakers are Millie Duckworth (BA Fine Art), Beth Flanders (BA Fine Art), Tegean Hughs (BA Interior Design) and Elizabeth Royle (BA Creative Arts Practice).
Try your hand at building kinetic objects, stepping into a mythological narrative, peering at everyday materials through a new lens, or composing a digital interior from scratch. Come curious and be ready to get involved!
The Undergraduate Degree Show will be open throughout the event, giving visitors the chance to explore the work on display, and a bar will be available across the evening.
This event is part of Bath Spa University’s new Locksbrook Lates programme.
Come and learn new skills, spark your own ideas, and be part of conversations that matter.

About the speakers
Millie Duckworth is a multidisciplinary artist working across film and sculpture. She creates functional objects inspired by vehicles to escape the white cube. These vehicles are used in public performances to encourage a shared passion for making and propose a new way of moving.
Beth Flanders’ work aims to create allegorical worlds that question institutions of wealth. Through this, her process entails writing, photographing, and painting mythological stories of her own creation.
Tegean Hughes is passionate about eclectic interiors, vibrant patterns, sculptural forms, and playful architectural details that bring personality into a space. She particularly enjoys creating mood boards and design schemes, exploring colour, texture, and materiality to develop immersive concepts. Inspired by biophilic design, she loves incorporating natural elements to create calming, balanced environments.
Elizabeth Royle is an interdisciplinary artist working across ceramics, textiles, and print. She is a maker and material investigator, interested in how boundaries can be blurred between art and science. Her research-led practice investigates the art of looking, beyond what can be seen on the surface - how looking deeper can reveal hidden truths.
