Mapping Bath
A collaborative forum and workshop between the West of England Visual Arts Alliance, Culture West and Bath Spa University.
Want to have your say about future programming for artists in Bath and North East Somerset? Join us for a forum and a mapping of Bath’s cultural resources!
Participants will be paid £50 for their time to join the session.
For the last three years, Spike Island and Visual Arts South West have been leading the West of England Visual Arts Alliance (WEVAA), along with partners Bath Spa University School of Art, Bristol City Council, The Brunswick Club, Creative Youth Network, Super Culture, North Somerset Council, and UWE Bristol. WEVAA opened up opportunities for artists, including workshops, bursaries, fellowships and commissions. Bath Spa University delivered a series of monthly professional development events for artists during this time.
We're in the process of planning the next stage of WEVAA, and would like to meet artists living and working in Bath and North East Somerset to talk about your needs and experiences, and how WEVAA might be able to support your practice development in the future.
Following a forum discussion, Bath-based Artist, Simbah Pilé will work with attendees to map the cultural offer and resources already in BANES. This will be turned into a resource to be shared with participants following the event.
Mapping Bath is part of a new series of gatherings at the Locksbrook Campus for creative practitioners and organisations, to help keep us better connected! Events will take the form of socials and workshops aimed at supporting networking and professional development for the arts community.
This programme is part of Culture West, an Arts Council England and West of England Combined Authority funded programme of activity across the West of England, designed to nurture the expansion of creativity and culture in the region. Mapping Bath is hosted in collaboration with Visual Arts South West and the West of England Visual Arts Alliance.
