LOOKING AT REALITIES PHILOSOPHICALLY

SCHOOL OF CIRCE PRESENTS: A CLAY AND PHILOSOPSHY WORKSHOP

Date
16/04/23
Organisation
Region
Bristol
Opening Times
11:00 – 16:00
Lottie Brown of School of Circe ('accessible, anarcho teaching') will be delivering a short lecture on the metaphysics of form and matter, through the focus on the ideas of indifference, identity and constitution. As the age-old philosophical dilemma, this relationship is often posed as the question ‘Does there exist here a statue or a piece of clay? Or both, or neither?’.

In an attempt to answer this question (and putting an end to this metaphysical turmoil), collaborative playful interaction with clay will hold center to this workshop, inviting participants to philosophically explore the ontology of identity and the relationship between form and matter, both kinesthetically and through discussion.

No previous experience with philosophy or clay needed!
