LEGENDARY ANIMAL ROLEPLAY
CASSIE IRELAND PRESENTS: ANTHROPOMORPHIC DRAWING & ROLEPLAY WORKSHOP
Cassie Ireland’s workshop is about story-telling through shapeshifting; ‘becoming animal’, this will be collaborative and playful. Participants will be invited to dress in various animal costumes relating to mythical shape shifting narratives. Working together to recreate radically different sensory systems to humans, that physically and perceptually alter our ability to interact with the drawing and role-playing tasks in the workshop. Participants will pair up and guide each other to complete the tasks.

It will involve sensory activities and play, such as wearing costumes and physically moving around the space, participants will be encouraged to work together finding ways to alter their human senses.

This opportunity is part of the West of England Visual Arts Alliance (WEVAA), supported by Arts Council England. WEVAA is a consortium partnership of nine organisations co-lead by Spike Island and Visual Arts South West, and including the Brunswick Club, Bath Spa School of Art, Bristol City Council, Creative Youth Network, Culture Weston, North Somerset Council and UWE Bristol. This alliance is delivering a 3-year programme of activity with the aim of supporting visual arts progression in the region, and a collective vision for the visual arts in Bristol and the West of England to become more progressive, sustainable and inclusive by 2024.
