Jigsaw Linocut Workshop
Learn the art of Jigsaw linocut, a technique explored by Edvard Munch whereby an image is carved into a piece of soft cut lino.
Jigsaw linocut is a technique whereby an image is carved into a piece of soft cut lino. The lines are carved and sections are then cut from the design.
This allows ink to be applied to each section, enabling you to experiment with a range of colours more easily before printing onto printing paper, as you can see in the images.
There are many forms of making marks that can be applied to your lino, opening up a range of possibilities to your printed image. This is a form of printmaking was explored via jigsaw woodcut printing by Edvard Munch.
All you need to bring with you is an image to work from and your imagination. All materials and tools will be supplied by the tutor.
