Introduction to Screenprinting - Cut it like Matisse

Explore the vibrant world of Screenprinting through the lens of Henri Matisse’s paper cut-outs. This one-day course is ideal for beginners or those looking to refresh their skills in a creative, supportive studio environment.

You’ll first learn how to “draw with scissors” and then create bold, abstract designs using paper stencils. You will then expose these shapes onto screens and print in layers to produce colourful, collaborative works on paper.

Working both individually and as a group, you’ll gain a strong foundation in Screenprinting techniques – from stencil-making and screen preparation to printing and registration.

At the end of the course, you’ll have produced a selection of prints to display, including your own design.

This course may get messy so please wear old clothes. All materials will be provided.
