IN FORM AND COLOUR
In Form & Colour presents a playful and inspired encounter between sculptor Lucianne Lassalle and painter RJ Pocklington.
In Form & Colour presents a playful and inspired encounter between sculptor Lucianne Lassalle and painter RJ Pocklington, highlighting two very different disciplines that complement each other. The exhibition showcases sculpture and painting, celebrating both figurative and abstract approaches to creativity.
Lucianne Lassalle’s sculptures, modelled in clay and cast in bronze or mixed media, fuse traditional figurative techniques with contemporary urban themes. Her work captures the human body and its expression, merging classical skill with modern sensibilities. Lassalle’s pieces are held in private and public collections across the UK and internationally, and she is recognised as one of the UK’s most compelling sculptors of the human form. Benny Higgins, Chairman of the National Galleries of Scotland, described her as “one of the best figurative sculptors in the UK.”
RJ Pocklington’s paintings explore abstraction and impressionism, combining colour, shape, and technique to create immersive works that capture movement, memory, and the human presence within landscapes. Born in Grimsby and raised in Lincolnshire, his practice is rooted in gesture and layered colour. Pocklington has been selected for the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize and pre-selected for the Royal Society of British Artists Annual Exhibition.
