Good Morning Spike Island! Coffee morning and Tour

Spike Island is delighted to welcome local residents and community members for a relaxed morning, with coffee and a tour of our exhibition.

Spike Island is delighted to welcome local residents and community members for a relaxed morning, with coffee and a tour of our exhibition.

Join us for complimentary drinks in Emmeline Café, followed by an informal tour of our autumn exhibition, Beverly Buchanan: Weathering. Beverly Buchanan was an African-American artist who found endless creativity in the people and places around her. This tour is a chance for our neighbours to get to know her story and her art. It will also be an opportunity to connect and come together around themes of care and solidarity – ideas that sat at the heart of Beverly Buchanan’s work and life.

All welcome. No prior experience or knowledge of contemporary art is required.

How it works

We’ll meet in Emmeline Café from 10am, where you’ll find some Spike Island team members wearing blue lanyards – come and say hello!

At about 10.30am we’ll move into the Spike Island gallery for a group introduction and informal exhibition tour, lasting around an hour.
