Head upstairs and take a left to discover the intimate room featuring the incredible ceramic work of potter Abi Higgins. Her pieces will be on display from Wednesday to Saturday, now through June 21st. Don’t miss this beautiful, quiet corner of the gallery.

Abi works with traditional ceramic techniques. Her moon jars are created by joining two thrown pots to form a rounded shape, a method rooted in centuries-old practice. She draws inspiration from classical pottery, particularly Greek and Roman burnished Terra Sigillata vessels, which informs her bottle forms and naked raku pieces.

Higgins' work often involves the meditative process of burnishing, a technique that imparts a soft, time-worn sheen to the clay surface. A hallmark of her practice is the use of copper wash, introduced through early experimentation with raku glazes. During firing, this wash reveals unexpected flashes of color, ensuring each piece emerges with a unique and unrepeatable finish.

10:00am – 4:00pm daily, from Wednesday to Saturday. The gallery is situated at the top of Fore Street, Moretonhampstead, close to the Parish Church. Parking is available in the Court Street and Station Road car parks.
