Funding Fit
Funding workshop with artist/curator Simon Poulter
Saturday 5 February 2022, 10am-12noon AND
Saturday 12 February 2022, 10am-12 noon on Zoom
CAMP members £13 // Non members £40
Funding Fit is a two part workshop, run by artist & curator Simon Poulter, looking at how to develop a project and submit a successful funding application. Simon’s last Funding Fit sessions for CAMP resulted in FOUR successful funding bids by CAMP members.
With a new round of Developing Your Own Creative Practice (DYCP ) opening in February 2022, and the new Arts Council England Project Grant application form on Grantium, this is a vital workshop for all those thinking of applying for funding in 2022.
Please note there are two dates for this workshop and you must commit to both sessions.
Session 1: Devising the project – Saturday 5 February, 10am – 12noon
In this session we talk about how to devise the project from ground up. We’ll draw up a one pager describing the project, then we’ll assess the goals of the funding programmes we are targeting. This session goes into detail on how to turn a project into a fundable proposition. We will discuss scoping the project, first draft budget and creating partnerships. There will be an overview of Arts Council England’s Lets Create agenda and outcomes. This session incorporates a Q&A.
Session 2: Putting together a proposal and bid – Saturday 12 February, 10am – 12noon
In this session we will cover two Arts Council England strands – Project Grants (up to 30K) and Developing Your Own Creative Practice (DYCP ). This session concentrates on writing a budget for your project. Payments to yourself, your collaborators, insurance for public facing works, health and safety and evaluation will all be addressed. We will also look at why bids fail and the importance of ‘follow up’ contact when funding is not awarded. We will also look at finer details of filling out the form on Grantium and a few tricks to make the process easier! This session incorporates a Q&A.
GUIDANCE
Arts Council England’s funds have become very competitive in the last 2 years (during the pandemic). Preparing a bid can take a significant amount of time and making your project and bid fit to be funded is very important. Funding Fit will help you assess how ready you are, however we cannot offer follow up support for bids in progress. But we wish you the best of luck in testing times!
ACCESS INFORMATION
This workshop will take place on Zoom, using image & audio, and you will be asked by the workshop leader to participant either by voice or text chat. You are very welcome to bring a support worker with you to the session (just let us know by email after you book so we can share the Zoom link with them too). There is live-captioning (words pop up as they are spoken).
