Dream and Refuge presents a selection of recent acquisitions and works from the Jerwood Collection that explore home, refuge, and movement, from prints of dancing figures and colourful dreamscapes, to carved clay sculptural bowls and still life oil paintings.
Featuring artists Tunji Adeniyi-Jones, Michael Armitage, Vanessa Bell, Halima Cassell, Paula Rego, Bridget Riley, Mike Silva, Rose Wylie.
Dream and Refuge is brought together in collaboration with UWE Bristol’s MA Curating programme.
2023 is the Jerwood Collection’s 30th anniversary, celebrating thirty years of promoting the learning and enjoyment of modern and contemporary British art. This exhibition is the first of a three-year collaboration between Arnolfini and the Jerwood Collection, to share the collection, supported by the Jerwood Foundation, and explore the idea of art for enjoyment.
