Drawing and Painting Direct from Nature with Frances Gynn RWA

Join Frances Gynn RWA as she leads you through the Braunton Burrows, one of the largest dune networks in the UK, at the heart of the North Devon AONB.

Bringing you closer to nature, this practice has the potential of unleashing spontaneity as well as considered ideas that working within the elements can bring. Frances will demonstrate a few of the ways in which she make marks directly from nature, within her own art practice. In partnership with The Burton at Bideford.

In 2021 Frances was awarded the Environmental Artist Commission The Burton at Bideford, focusing on the effect of plastic pollution on the flora within this area. Frances has exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions including the Royal West of England Academy (RWA), Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize exhibition, Wells Art Contemporary, as well as exhibiting site-specific work in the landscape. One of these exhibitions was ‘Hallsands Revisited’, an exhibition and collaborative performance between Frances and musicians, Kozik and Richards.

Please wear suitable clothing and bring a notebook. Larger paper and materials will be provided. Please bring a packed lunch. In the case of rain, we will work at Studio KIND.
