The Documentary Photography Open 2025 is an exhibition of photographs submitted by the public in response to the theme, Festivals, Fairs and Carnivals: merrymaking and revelry in North Devon.
This year, we asked entrants to reflect on the community spirit and unique atmosphere of North Devon’s celebrations, including events such as Barnstaple Fair and of course, the return of Barnstaple Carnival. During the exhibition, you’re invited to cast your vote to select the winning entry of the Documentary Photography Open 2025. The winner will be announced at the end of the exhibition.
The photographs submitted by the public are exhibited alongside historical photographs by James Ravilious.
