For many people living in modern cities, nature is no longer a constant presence, but something encountered intermittently, a place we visit rather than inhabit. Yet nature predates us and continues to shape the environments that sustain our lives. In Bristol, the proximity to rural landscapes serves as a reminder of this enduring connection.
This exhibition brings together artists who reflect on their personal dialogues with nature through diverse artistic practices. For some, nature has long been a central subject and source of inspiration; for others, it represents a new terrain of exploration. Collectively, the works invite viewers to reconsider how we see, understand, and situate ourselves within the natural world, using these reflections as a starting point for broader conversations about belonging, responsibility, and coexistence.
Through handmade prints, oil paintings, and mixed-media sculptures, the artists share intimate and varied conversations with nature, offering multiple perspectives on how it is observed, remembered, imagined, and felt.
