Join experienced theatre-makers and co-collective founders of From the Mud, Mia Borthwick and Jack Stringer for an inspiring workshop designed to help you forge meaningful connections, spark collaboration, and build a supportive artist collective. Mia and Jack will share their experience founding From the Mud, a performance collective launched in 2021 by graduating students from University Centre Weston. This workshop will explore:
- Practical tips on starting or joining a collective
- How collective benefit creatives
- How to build an audience for your work
Mia Borthwick
Mia is an actor, musician, clown and theatre maker from Weston-Super-Mare. She is currently touring her one woman musical show called 'I Don't Have A Maths GCSE' across the South West. She also regularly performs outlandish characters in From The Mud, a Weston cabaret show that she co-founded alongside friends from university.
Jack Stringer
Jack is an actor and theatre maker living and working in Weston-Super-Mare, specialising in devised comedy and all things 'silly'. He has produced and toured original shows nationally, earning 5-star reviews. Other recent notable credits include Granny Jackson's Dead (included in The Stage Top 50 Shows 2024) and The Polar Express Train Ride.
