Hidden Gallery, Bristol, is delighted to announce the opening of its latest exhibition, titled “British Contemporary Art.” The exhibition, on display from Thursday 11th July to Sunday 28th July, contains such luminaries as Dame Tracey Emin, Sir Peter Blake, Damien Hirst, David Hockney, Grayson Perry and many more. It is a who’s who of the leading lights on the contemporary art scene.

Although known for employing a wide range of artistic techniques (often revolutionary and controversial), these artists have also proven themselves to be printmakers of great skill and eloquence. Their work reflects the dynamic momentum of contemporary life, a globally interconnected community that is culturally diverse, technologically advanced, and dizzyingly multifaceted. They engage in a rich dialogue with the art that came before them, challenging and subverting established narratives and borrowing from an infinite array of styles and ideas.

“Britain’s Contemporary art scene defies easy categorisation,” said Amy Hampshire, manager of Hidden Gallery, Bristol. “It’s a meeting point for a vast array of voices, styles and ideas, colliding and combining in new and unexpected ways.” To celebrate this dynamic sector of the art world, Hidden Gallery has assembled an exciting cross-section of original, hand-signed prints, tapestries and sculptures by some of the most recognisable figures in the contemporary canon.

Highlights include a diamond dusted screenprint by Damien Hirst, featuring his world-renowned human skull studded with over 8,000 diamonds, an original sculpture of Tracey Emin's cat 'Docket' and vibrant textiles and unique drawings by Grayson Perry. The prints, sculptures, and textiles, which are available to buy, will be on display in the gallery located in the Clifton Arcade, Clifton, from the 11th of July, offering visitors an exciting opportunity to get up close and personal to masterpieces by some of the most important home-grown artists of our time.
