Charcoal Landscape Drawing
Learn how to use charcoal to create both subtle and dynamic drawings.
Draw the landscape near Applehayes, iconic site for the Camden Towners.
Artist Wendy Rhodes will explore tonal values from bright light to deep shadow, create highlights with putty rubbers & explore a variety of ways to build texture. Working from photographs of local scenes, come away with a finished charcoal landscape to be proud of! Learn about:
-Different types of charcoal
-Tonal charcoal effects
-Mark making from broad to fine
-Drawing light with erasers
-Light and shadow
-Composition
Ages 15+ with free spaces for 15-25 year olds.
All materials provided. If possible, participants should bring: landscape photos – physical or digital. If you have a sketchbook containing landscape sketches please bring it along too.
