Artizan welcomes Leicestershire-based artist Jo McChesney as we continue our series of solo exhibitions at the Artizan Printmaking & Sculpture Gallery on Lucius Street.

Capturing Moments in Time brings together a collection of works inspired by Jo’s constant source of fascination — the natural world. Trees, weather, and water recur throughout her imagery, from the shifting light of dense woodland to starkly lit silhouettes against a bright sky. Each piece draws attention to the transient and often overlooked — ripples on water, drifting seed heads, fleeting air currents — capturing the poetry of impermanence.

Jo combines collected drawings with memories of time and place, allowing each print to evolve organically through the carving and printing process. Hand-burnished on wood, her prints reveal soft textures and subtle tonal depth, creating works that feel at once contemplative and alive.

This exhibition is hosted in our Main Gallery, whilst in our Courtyard Gallery we will be re-curating Charlotte's Sainsbury's Exhibition, Pressed and Pulled. Each space will also feature specially selected 3D works from our seasonal sculpture artists.
