Bristol Clay
Bristol Clay is a group of ceramicists from Bristol who are presenting an exciting group show demonstrating the ‘Infinite Possibility of Clay’.
‘Bristol Clay’ is a group of 13 women ceramic artists showing at centrespace for the second time in November 2023. The artists are based at a number of different studios in Bristol -Windmill Studios, Mudworks, Estate of the Arts and Clay Shed as well as working from home.
Coming from different starting points and experiences, all artists share a passion for exploring the limitless possibilities of clay. Each artist has their own individual approach to ceramics and the work displayed here demonstrates the versatility of the medium. From vessels thrown on the potter’s wheel to hand-built sculptures, from earthenware to stoneware and raku, every piece of work is unique and has its place in the maker’s artistic journey. ‘Bristol Clay’ collective is committed to an inclusive, supportive and collaborative approach, supporting each other in their artistic development and in the sharing of skills, ideas and experiences. The show includes well-established artists as well as people who have not exhibited before.
