Between Earth and Sky

A free public event celebrating the arrival of two major new public artworks by acclaimed British artist Simon Periton in Warminster.

Taking place on Saturday 4 July, from 3–6pm, the event offers an opportunity to meet the artist and learn more about Teumessian Fox and Laelaps, a pair of landmark sculptures inspired by local landscape, mythology, ecology and astronomy.

Visitors can also explore the Museum of Roadside Magic, a mobile museum created by local artist Libby Bove. Throughout the afternoon, Libby will lead a free drop-in workshop inviting people of all ages to create small deities, offerings and figures inspired by the sculptures. Participants will be invited to leave their creations as blessings and companions to help welcome the artworks into their new home.

Free refreshments will be served, and everyone is welcome.

The event celebrates the completion of the public art commission, which has brought two large-scale sculptures to the eastern and western entrances of Jubilee Gardens, creating a lasting connection between the landscape, local history and the skies above Warminster.
