Before & After - Fragments of Origin
Featuring work by 30 artists from CAMP membership
‘Before and After; Fragments of Origin’ features 31 artists and performers from CAMP membership and explores cultural relationships with the natural world that existed before global extraction transformed ecosystems. The work considers what has been lost, what remains, and how these relationships might evolve as we look forward to the future.
The exhibition includes sculpture, installation, film, sound, performance and wall-based work. Intervention and performance will activate the space during the show.

12 o'c midday Laura Denning will be presenting The Tarot of the Weather (Weathered Women Walking) is an exploration of living with the weather as a lens through which to understand kinship. A card reading can seem random and beyond our control; we cannot decide which cards fall where. Similarly, the weather can seem random and beyond our control. This pack is for the weather-feelers who recognise that our bodies are sensory data collectors. The pack includes some Scottish weather words and some new, wild cards. The cards are circular. Rectangular cards give binary readings. Kinship, like the weather, is not binary.
2pm Mark Leahy performance of Cream of the Crop a spoken word piece developed as part of a solo performance on a residency at Live Art Ireland in 2023. Combining improvised movement, speech, and actions within a detailed score. Structured in three parts, the material references weather and climate, farming and agriculture, and the relationships of humans to the other-than-human.

3pm poetry reading by Caroline Collingridge reflecting what happens when ancient wisdom is lost to human-induced climate change.
