Artists' Insights: Learning
Join us for the first in a series of bi-monthly conversations hosted by Bath Art Depot at FORM-ICA
'I'm not an educator. I'm interested in the act or action of learning with art.'
Three arts practitioners share key words, images and critical moments from their experiences working in galleries, art schools and community spaces—as a starting point for a conversation together about learning with art.
Natasha Kidd is an artist with an established practice in expanded painting and pedagogical research. She has worked across Fine Art teaching and management in HE institutions across the UK, and is Associate Vice-Provost for Creative Engagement at Bath Spa University.
Layla Gatens is a curator and facilitator exploring embodiment in research and artistic practice. She is Senior Curator at The Wilson Art Gallery and Museum, and has held positions at Serpentine Galleries, Spike Island and Chisenhale Gallery, developing collaborative projects with communities.
Eleanor Sanghara Güstard is a cultural producer, artist, writer and curator. She is Engagement Producer at Arnolfini, Bristol, and has worked with Hauser & Wirth, Tate and Central Saint Martins. Her work advocates for cultural spaces as platforms for unlearning and relearning, centring practices and voices historically marginalised within these contexts.
Soup and drinks will be available with the proceeds going towards supporting future Bath Art Depot community events and projects.
