Studio Response

Studio Response is a limited company founded in 2016. It is an award-winning practice that offers diverse expertise and experience of commissioning public art and creative placemaking which it believes can inspire, transform and create a sense of place whilst engendering social and economic change.

 The Studio believes that artists can enrich the quality and character of our public spaces.  Its approach focuses on working with artists to respond creatively to the people, place, culture, heritage and aspirations of neighbourhoods and communities across the UK. It commissions artists, designers and architects to make new work with the public at the heart of the process, whether that results in permanent sculptures or temporary artworks, socially engaged projects or integrated architectural designs and functional artworks.

 Its approach is fundamentally people centred: from building strong, collaborative relationships with clients, to up-skilling and supporting emerging artists, to ensuring that communities engage in our projects in ways that are meaningful, accessible and enriching. It delivers contemporary art projects across a diverse range of types, scale and budget, each underpinned by a critical and context-specific response to art, people and place.
