Workshop Coordinator - Materials Lab - Glass - 0.6

We are seek­ing to appoint a Glass spe­cial­ist, who is able to instruct, guide and sup­port the work of stu­dents in a dynam­ic Stu­dio environment.

We are seeking to appoint a Glass specialist, who is able to instruct, guide and support the work of students in a dynamic Studio environment while working with staff and students across the University to facilitate the many varied needs, modules and workshops that occur during the academic year.

Candidates for this key role would have a degree in a relevant discipline or industry experience. Experience of teaching and/or demonstrating a range of skills and processes which should encompass all aspects of Glass blowing, free form and mould blowing, hot casting, kiln glass knowledge, cold working, and basic maintenance of workshop equipment, as well as relevant experience in setting up exhibitions, a good level of IT Skills including Adobe Suite, experience with working with Health and Safety regulations, excellent workshop management skills, organisational and interpersonal skills with record keeping abilities. Familiarity or experience working with other mediums would be advantageous.
