Trustee for Art In Motion
Art in Motion, a dynamic and creative charity based in Bristol, are seeking a dedicated trustee to join our board.

AIM is a dynamic organisation that collaborates with learning-disabled and neurodiverse artists to make artwork. We champion inclusivity and creativity, opening doors to the arts and increasing belonging within the artist community. We provide opportunities for individuals to develop their art practice, learn new skills, broaden their experience and showcase their work through exhibitions and events.
The Role:
As a trustee, you will guide Art in Motion's strategic direction. You will work alongside a committed board to ensure the charity's sustainability and growth, helping us reach more artists and create a more inclusive arts community in Bristol. Having knowledge and experience of the arts and art organisations at an operational level would be most welcome.
Key Responsibilities:
Alongside other board members, you will support with the following:
- Governance and Oversight: ensure that AIM operates within its charitable objectives and complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Strategic Planning: contribute to developing and implementing AIM’s strategic plans, providing insight and direction to achieve our goals.
- Financial Management: oversee the charity's financial health, ensuring resources are managed effectively and transparently.
- Advocacy and Networking: act as an ambassador for AIM, building relationships with stakeholders, supporters, and the wider community.
- Fundraising and Resource Development: support fundraising initiatives and identify new opportunities for resource development.
Who We're Looking For:
We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Ideal candidates will possess:
Essential
- An alignment to AIM’s mission and values.
- Experience in the arts, education, social care, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively and think creatively.
Desirable
- Skills in governance, strategic planning, financial oversight, or fundraising.
