About us:
Mount is a small team of designers and makers that are as excited about frames as we are about the artwork itself. We’re soon launching “Mount Collections”, an online store offering framed prints sourced from small archives and collections. The imagery we work with doesn’t have to be museum-worthy: only interesting, visually appealing, and deserving of a wider audience. We want to inspire future collectors, and to share the excitement of discovery with our customers.
We rework these original artworks into reproduction prints, designing and hand-making the perfect frame for each image.
Alongside Mount Collections, we also make high-quality custom frames for galleries and museums. Every frame is handmade in our Somerset studio from ethically sourced materials, natural paints and finishes.
Everyone who works at Mount must share our values of sustainability, finesse and excellence in design and manufacture.
We’re looking to take on a trainee picture framer to learn how to make frames to the highest standards. (We'll consider experienced framers too – so do apply if you already have some framing experience).

General job description:
We’re seeking a confident and practical person. This is a hands-on role that will train or develop existing skills in all aspects of picture framing, including:

• Sanding, joining and frame carpentry
• Hand-finishing and spray painting
• Cutting sheet material – mountboard, mdf, glass, dibond and any other board product required.
• Mounting of work for framing – window mounting, float mounting, object mounting and drymounting.
• Assembling of mounted work and frames.

You must have demonstrable practical skills, affinity with materials, good attention to detail, the ability to work with speed, precision and finesse, and be numerate.
