The Trainee Archivist supports the documentation, digitisation and cataloguing of all Trigger projects and production assets. Working closely with our Senior Producer, Finance & Operations Manager and external archivists, you will support the development of a new archival procedure and public access engagement programme.

Over 6 months you will work alongside industry professionals, learn how to document, catalogue and preserve our often temporary and site-specific works of art. You will work in an encouraging environment committed to developing your skills through a dedicated training program working on live projects, with mentorship from our skilled team of producers and community engagement specialists. You will also work closely with external archive specialists to develop an archival procedure for Trigger. Supporting the preservation of our extraordinary artistic and curatorial practice and engagement programme, promoting public access to our archive. No previous experience in the arts or archiving is necessary, if you are creative, interested in history, storytelling and community engagement with a willingness to learn we want to hear from you.

Salary: £12.60 p/hr in line with national living wage

Contract: Part time 24 hours / 3 days per week over 6 months

Place of Work: The Old Post Office, High Street, Blagdon – some remote working available

Travel Stipend: Up to £216 travel & accommodation stipend towards attending our work on national tour or visiting a national archive at a location in the UK.

Up to £15 per day return travel stipend to attend our office in Blagdon on your allocated working days.
