Residency
Scratch Lab open call
Caraboo Projects are inviting proposals from artists working in any discipline for our Scratch Lab residency.
For full opportunity description, how to apply and an easy read version of this open call visit https://carabooprojects.com/opportunities/
The aim of Scratch Lab is to provide four artists (three from Bristol and one from the South West) with a focused environment to explore ideas, take risks and make connections.
Scratch Lab will bring artists together in real time and space in Bristol for one week, to develop work, potentially finding moments of overlap and harmony between ideas. We will also be selecting guest artists to visit during the week and talk to resident artists about their work.
Following 5 days of on-site working each artist will create an installation, interactive project, or performance resulting in an opening event and will be publicly viewable for 2 days.
Scratch Lab will be held at The Gallery space at The Island, Bridewell Street, 1st Floor, Bristol BS1 2QD.
Following two unfunded Scratch Lab projects in 2019, our third Scratch Lab has been kindly funded by Arts Council England. We are pleased to be able to support participating artists time through:
Artists fee of £500
Production budget up to £250
Food stipend of £50
Deadline for proposals: Sunday 15th August 2021
We will respond to submissions by Monday 6th September 2021
Scratch Lab will take place Mon 18th October- Sunday 24th October 2021
