Call for curators

Lead Curator Role on the waterfront connectivity programme

Gosport BC are recruiting for a Lead Curator for a unique new public art trail that will animate and join up its unique and fascinating heritage sites

Gosport Borough Council are recruiting for a Lead Curator to scope out and create a costed plan for the development of a major new public art trail that will animate and join up its unique and fascinating heritage sites. This is to support the Waterfront Connectivity Programme that is funded by Levelling Up.

In 2023 Gosport Borough Council were awarded a Levelling Up Fund grant of £11,156,400 for the Rum Store and £6,961,514 to create better connections and walking routes between Gosport town centre, the ferry terminal, the historic waterfront and most of its key historically significant sites. This will create a circular pedestrian and cycle route that will, for the first time, allow users to access all the key historic sites easily
GBC want to appoint a Lead Curator who will create a plan for using public art to animate this trail. Working as part of the overall design team for the trail, the Lead Curator will explore and explain how public art commissions could tell the Gosport story, both in terms of its history but also in terms of its communities today and its unique and fragile environmental sites.
