FREELANCE ARTIST’S ASSISTANT
Freelance assistant/rep for 22.5 hr/wk 6 month internship. Suit recent graduate or someone experienced in art management/admin/sales, marketing/PR
What will you achieve in the six months?
You will work with an established painter, printmaker and mixed media artist based in West Cornwall
Catalogue work.
Create and maintain an e-commerce website
Write engaging copy for email, social media, website, press releases, digital and print advertisements etc.
Develop relationships with national commercial galleries
Explore new outlets to increase sales on a national and international level.
Plan and execute marketing strategies
Assist with print editioning and preparation of other art works
Key Requirements:
•Registered with HMRC as self-employed
• A good knowledge of the art world
• Strong people and networking skills
• Good working knowledge of PR
• Selling and negotiation skills
• Administrative abilities
• Skills in website design and e-commerce
• Knowledge of digital and paper publishing
• An eagerness to both facilitate and to learn.
Desirable Experience:
• An education in art, eg an MA in fine art, art history, arts management or curating.
• Fine art print editioning skills
