We are looking for a motivated, highly organised and creative Events & Projects Officer to join our busy Brand and Communications Team.
We are looking for a motivated, highly organised and creative Events & Projects Officer to join our busy Brand and Communications Team at Plymouth College of Art.
Your role as part of our high achieving team will be an important one - helping to create and deliver projects and events for the college, our students, our partners and our alumni that appeal to a variety of audiences and in turn raise our national and international reputation and profile.
The day to day work will be varied and challenging. Typical projects and events that you plan, promote and deliver will range from our Degree Shows and Graduation to pop-up shop/recruitment events, summer schools, virtual events, and conversion events working in collaboration with the recruitment team. You’ll work as part of a team to roll out our annual national student recruitment campaigns across outdoor, digital, and social media, merchandise and marketing materials and create and source compelling content for our prospectus, e-newsletters and staff communications to build our brand and drive event attendance and applications to our pre-degree, undergraduate and postgraduate courses. After events, you will evaluate the impact of your projects/activities, and can report on different audiences in terms of applications.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable managing several projects at once, tenacious enough to chase busy people to meet deadlines and can negotiate the purchase of cost-effective goods and services. You’ll be someone that is a natural organiser and planner, stays calm and positive under pressure, and can think laterally to prioritise multiple demands.
You’ll be creating experiences, physically and virtually, that communicate our vision to a variety of audiences and expose the wealth of exceptional innovation and opportunities at the college through the work and achievements of our students, staff, alumni and partners.
The ability to seek, record and respond to audience feedback and work openly and collaboratively are all important attributes. Dealing articulately and persuasively with people at many levels when under pressure will be essential and, in time, an understanding of our values will enable you to assess whether events, partnerships and marketing materials are on-brand and uphold the unique creative environment of this specialist art college and HEI. You will also be able to work cross functionally with other teams when projects require it.
We really believe in the transformative nature of the arts, culture and creative education and we value people who not only have an interest in these areas but are keen to be brand ambassadors attending and promoting our events and initiatives to others too.
The Brand and Communications Team is part of a Directorate that includes Student Recruitment & Admissions and Front of House and is responsible for supporting our academics and other staff in promoting the college’s education offer, events, projects and partnerships. We also work with Fab Lab Plymouth, MIRROR (our onsite public art gallery), our Short Courses and Young Arts programmes, Making Futures and Making Learning plus a variety of regional and national art, design and media projects and initiatives.
