DIGITAL PROJECTS LEAD
Fotonow are seeking an experienced professional to lead on the development of digital and online aspects of our community project work.
MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB:
We are an innovative and inclusive social enterprise specialising in community-focussed photography and film projects. We have developed significant cultural projects over the past decade with people at the heart of our work. Being a social enterprise we use the profit that the company generates to support many communities and social causes which we share through our impact reporting.
In the context of COVID-19 lockdown and anticipated ongoing social distancing measures, Fotonow, funded by an Arts Council England Emergency Grant, are looking to enhance our capabilities to deliver a wider range of our projects online and as digital outcomes.
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead on the development of digital and online aspects of Fotonow community project work, supporting our wider delivery team and bringing energy and enthusiasm in enhancing the future of the company.
The creative role will reimagine our websites to engage new audiences, and work with our project leads to integrate digital technology such as VR/AR into our community project work, bringing vibrant cutting-edge digital experiences across our outputs, developing new areas of work and engaging diverse audiences.
We are also seeking to fully implement a recent company rebrand into our website and improve accessibility, performance and security. Therefore an ability to carry out ground up web development work is essential and to stay up-to-date with digital media developments.
Fotonow holds grant funding for a number of significant projects that were due to start in the ‘lockdown’ period, and which now need redesigning to make use of online delivery.
This includes our two-year action research project Youth Co-design pilot ‘Unlocked’, and #iWill a youth Climate Action project (as well as others). You will be required to work with the wider delivery team to design and manage suitable online platforms to support our working processes and creative outcomes for these core projects in the context of continuing COVID-19 disruption, and likely period of social distancing beyond.
We will require the individual to understand how social media can integrate with online project development, advocacy and develop a strategy for Fotonow’s digital presence. You will support the company with building better approaches and platforms to communicate (past and present) outcomes with our audiences, and to implement data protection and GDPR requirements.
As with all community-based practice, excellent personal and social skills are important and an ability to share knowledge and support others in their learning. You will be able to deal sensitively with clients and project participants in a wide range of situations and through social enterprise understand community and commercial aspects of delivery.
We are looking for someone ready for a new challenge, excited by the opportunity to join our team at this new juncture and build on our work.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To design and implement new online systems which support project outcomes
To develop creative digital content in line with our social aims
To develop strategy for showcasing our work (Fotonow archive)
To assist project delivery teams in realising community projects
To support the delivery of Fotonow CIC project work both from company office and on location as appropriate to the nature of the project.
To work as part of the Fotonow team and contribute ideas to project delivery.
