You will have the opportunity to make your mark and, with support from senior leaders, be the driving force behind the delivery of our strategy. You will project manage work programmes with exciting and varied internal and external partners (for example, via our recently awarded UK Shared Prosperity Fund grant); seek opportunities for funding to support the wider ambitions across the region; and build existing and new networks to develop future collaborative work programmes that grow partnerships across the region, increase cultural engagement and strengthen marketing and programming.


The Cultural Producer will provide a central hub for advocacy, communication and development of the strategy. This includes coordination of the Cultural Compact, a strategic leadership group who will guide and steer your work, ensure it is aligned to other Council priorities, such as the Tourism Strategy, and act as a critical friend. You will also coordinate the Arts & Culture East Devon (ACED), a growing, supportive, multi-disciplinary creative network.


About you
Key to this role is your ability to influence and inspire others and you must be able to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders As well as having knowledge and experience in current best practice in the creative arts and cultural sector, it would be useful to have knowledge and experience of developing and writing successful funding applications.

*East Devon District Council are currently consulting on changes to their grading structure, pay rates and annual leave entitlement (known as the ‘Reward Review’). If the proposals are agreed through consultation, the pay changes will be implemented in November 2022 and backdated to 1st April 2022 and the annual leave improvements will take effect from 1st January 2023 (our new leave year). The appointing manager can advise you of the proposed revised grade, salary level and annual leave entitlement that will apply to this post, if agreed through consultation.
