Creative Lead: Videographer
Experienced videographer/filmaker required to lead the public participation project Test Valley Video Tapestry.
Test Valley Arts Foundation (TVAF) seeks to appoint a highly creative individual, experienced in film making/videography to take the creative lead on the public participation project - Test Valley Video Tapestry.
The role is to inspire and assist residents of all ages, from the hamlets, villages, parishes and towns of Test Valley to take part in an open entry film project. Members of the public will be invit- ed to create a short film (3-5 mins) which documents and/or tells a story about the people and places where they live, using whatever equipment they have available (eg a smartphone).
You will develop a creative brief which inspires and engages people to take part. You will develop and manage the submission process, and make the project accessible for anyone by publishing a set of ‘how to’ videos. The second phase of the project will be to deliver workshops for 6 schools and 6 community groups to assist and inspire them in responding to the brief.
Once public submissions have closed, content from individual films will be edited together to cre- ate a film ‘tapestry’ and published online. The film should represent the people and places across the whole of Test Valley and form a time capsule of our time.
This is a unique time for people across the globe, as we face the obstacles presented by Coronavirus including lockdown and social distancing. Although this project was initially devised before the pandemic, we realise that it creates an opportunity for creativity and storytelling to help doc- ument an important time in history.
