Creative Fellowships 2022-23: Artists Callout

Arts and Culture University of Exeter is inviting applications from creative practitioners for a Creative Fellowship 2022 – 23

Arts and Culture University of Exeter is inviting applications from creative practitioners for three Creative Fellowships (Penryn Campus, Cornwall x2, and Exeter Campus, Devon x1) running during this academic year (ending July 2023). Each will be a 4-5 week exploratory placement, working in an interdisciplinary context. The Creative Fellowships are open to practitioners of any artform, including visual, digital, sound and performing arts, craft, design, film, literature and music.

Rather than being a residency, these opportunities are described as placements. The creative practitioner is a peer, opening up new approaches and conversations with the University hosts while developing and enriching their own creative practice. This scheme encourages mutually beneficial exchange, where both the host and the creative practitioner gain new insights and potential ways of working.

The University of Exeter Creative Fellowship hosts in 2022-23 are:

Law, Testimony and Trauma (Exeter Campus) Led by the Law School

Maritime Environmental History: Oral Histories and Creative Conversations (Penryn Campus) Led by Exeter Marine Centre for Environmental Arts and Humanities, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Exploring Climate Justice (Penryn Campus), Led by the Environment and Sustainability Institute/Fashion Justice Network/ Humanities and Social Sciences.

The total budget per Creative Fellowship is £6,000 (inclusive of VAT) on a freelance basis, to include practitioner’s fee, travel and accommodation, production costs and documentation.

Please follow the website link above to find out more information about all three Creative Fellowships.

Applications close midnight on Sunday 23 October 2022.
