Broadmead Baptist Church, located in the heart of central Bristol, is seeking an artist or craftsperson to design and create a new permanent cross for the front of its distinctive listed building. This commission forms part of a broader regeneration project focused on enhancing the church’s frontage and street presence.

This opportunity is particularly well-suited to artists, craftspeople, or designer-makers based in Bristol or the South West who have experience working in the public realm.

The selected artist(s) will collaborate closely with a small church committee and draw on research undertaken by the wider project design team to inform the creative direction.

The commission is for a permanent, integrated artwork that will be delivered as part of the overall construction programme. The final piece should be seamlessly incorporated into the timeline and physical transformation of the church’s frontage.
