Ginkgo Projects is seeking a Bristol or South West-based creative practitioner for an 8-month-long artist residency called ‘Common Threads’.
The residency is part of the new Futureweave site-wide public art strategy for Bedminster Green. The vision, and creative approach to the strategy were co-developed with a “Hive” group of residents and city-based individuals with knowledge of Bedminster, to test, inform, and co-create a framework for five artist residencies across five redevelopment plots in the area.
“Common Threads” Artist’s Residency will involve researching, designing and delivering creative responses to the evolving dynamics and demographics of this vibrant and diverse area, as well as its historical and social context. The artist will research the possibilities for partnership working or engaging with local organisations such as the city farm and develop a programme of activity that brings communities together and celebrates local culture.
