Artist Opportunity - Public Art Commission
‘a space’ arts are seeking expressions of interest from visual artists for a new public art commission in Langton Park, Swindon
The new, high quality housing development located in Langton Park in Wroughton, Swindon is seeking an artist(s) to develop a permanent public artwork. This opportunity would particularly favour a work that is site specific, environmentally sustainable (in terms of materials or theme) and enables the residents to better understand and connect to their location in an interesting, thought provoking and engaging way. The artwork should aim to be ambitious and create a contemporary landmark whilst being achievable within the time frame and budget.
The appointed artist(s) must be available to commit to the complete process and engage with the project team from design concept to on site installation. A budget of £23,500 will be available to the appointed artist(s).
Following the deadline for Expressions of Interest, four artists will be invited to develop proposals for the site. Interested artists should first read the below brief and submit an Expression of Interest as outlined in the brief by Thursday 31st March 2022.
