Artist opportunity: Cromhall, South Gloucestershire
We’re looking for an artist, writer or creative practitioner to develop a new creative project with the Cromhall community in South Gloucestershire.
We are looking to commission a highly experienced artist, writer or creative facilitator who enjoys planning and delivering workshops and creating collaborative artworks. The selected artist will need to demonstrate exceptional people skills, design skills, and the ability to plan and manage a series of accessible and enjoyable workshops for the residents of Cromhall.
Through a sustained period of engagement with groups in the area the commissioned artist will deliver a minimum of 8 workshops over a 8 month period. The intention is for these workshops to develop a dialogue with the local area and its residents whereby either a fully collaborative artwork/series of artworks are created or an artwork/series of artwork are created by the artist which are directly influenced by the workshops.
The workshops should strive to broaden knowledge within the area of what public art can be, fostering new ways of working together to create something meaningful for each other which also welcomes new people to the area.
Commission key details:
• £10,000 budget (ex.VAT)
• Minimum of 8 community workshops
• Open to artists, writers and creative practitioners
• Flexible approach to medium and final outcome
