3x Freelance Emerging Artists Commission

Creative Youth Network is looking for three young, enthusiastic, skilled and motivated emerging/early career artists who are interested in working wit

You will work with two targeted youth club sessions (e.g. young carers, LGBTQ, asylum seekers) in one of our 3 delivery areas across the city to build on and interpret the conversations and workshops we have been having around social action. You will lead on creating high quality, dynamic work for our first major show of 2021 that authentically captures the passion and vision of the youth participants for positive social change. Whilst you will lead on the creation of the work, you will also create a clear framework of opportunities for the youth participants to directly make and contribute to the final work.

At the end of their time with Creative Youth Network the young people will be energised, informed, and will have gained new skillsets, and expanded life chances through engaging with youth social action. They will also be immensely proud of the public artwork(s) they have contributed to.

There is a £1200 fee available in addition to a materials budget.

The commission is a 2-month fixed term contract running between February and April 2021.

We welcome applications from artists from under-represented and marginalized groups including BAME, disabled, LGBTQ+, and low socio-economic backgrounds.
