TAAG CIO - Teignmouth Arts Action Group

TAAG is a charity-operated Gallery and Arts & Well-being Hub which is used by over 30 local organisations for the benefit of the community

On 29th July we are reopening with a Grand Opening Exhibition which includes the work of over 80 artists! Our refurbishment of the ground floor is complete. The ground floor is now a modern and flexible gallery & workshop space where we can resume arts and other community activities. We are very grateful to everyone who contributed to this, either by donations or other assistance.

Work continues on the upper floors. We have secured some grant aid to repair the roof, which has been matchfunded by a kind donor, and are fundraising to raise the remaining £35k (the VAT we will have to pay). We are also seeking funding to redevelop the upper floors, providing a workshop and art studios, which will aid our future sustainability.

Teignmouth Arts Action Group (TAAG) is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CC reg no 1188013).

TAAG was originally formed to improve communication between artists and art organisations, and to facilitate arts in the Teignmouth area. Over a period of ten years it has developed into a community hub and has attracted other arts-related businesses to the area, which is now designated as Teignmouth's Arts Quarter.

Our Arts and Community Centre is normally used by over 30 organisations for activities which include: arts & craft workshops, Teignvironment, carers’ workshops, Devon Learning Recovery NHS workshops, multicultural festivals, Devon Open Studios, TRAIL recycled art, language classes, book clubs, lantern making and more. Our two galleries host weekly exhibitions by amateur and professional artists.

In 2020 we bought the TAAG building for, and with the assistance of, the local community, and we are carrying out extensive refurbishment of the TAAG building. We have been closed since COVID and following that for essential repair works.
