The Leach Pottery
Internationally renowned Pottery in St Ives with historic workshops and kilns, currently celebrating 100 years since its establishment.
Founded in 1920 by Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamada, the Leach Pottery is among the most respected and influential studio potteries in the world. Today the Leach Pottery is a living tribute to Bernard Leach and his legacy.
Reopening to the public as a Museum, Shop and Studio in 2008, visitors to the Pottery can see the original workshops, including the three-chambered Japanese climbing kiln. The Galleries and Shop regularly showcase work by leading regional, national and international studio potters. The Studio provides training for the next generation of potters who learn by making Leach Standard Ware tableware, which is sold in the Pottery’s Shop.
This year the leach Pottery marks 100 years since its foundation. To celebrate its centenary the Leach Pottery has curated an exciting and diverse programme of activities taking place throughout the year. From free family activities, internationally-significant exhibitions, to artist residencies, there is something for everyone to get involved.
