Founded in 1961 to encourage the practice and appreciation of the visual arts
The Chandos Society of Artists was founded in 1961 and is based in the town of Bridgwater in Somerset.
Jean Rees rwa, who was the co-founder of Bridgwater Arts Centre in 1946, was also a founder member of the Chandos Society of Artists and later became
its Chairman.
Since its inauguration the Society has been affiliated with the Bridgwater Arts Centre and holds two of its annual exhibitions there.Whether you paint, draw, make or appreciate art the Chandos Society of Artists welcomes you.
The Society members work in all artistic disciplines including, but not limited to, painting, photography, print making, textile art and three dimensional work such as ceramics and sculpture.
With at least three exhibitions each year our followers are given a stream of new art to view and buy.
