Knowle West Media Centre
Arts centre and charity supporting people to harness the power of arts and technology to create positive change.
Knowle West Media Centre (KWMC) supports people to make positive changes in their lives and communities by exploring how technology, creativity and artistic practice can make exciting things happen, create new ways of seeing, and bring people together.
An arts organisation and charity based in South Bristol since 1996, we began as a photography and health project. Our many current projects include training and employment opportunities for young people, a digital making space (KWMC: The Factory), residency programmes supporting artists to develop their practice and create new work, and creative projects working with local people to explore issues ranging from health to housing.
We work with artists from a range of backgrounds including performance, circus, live art, photography, film, animation, digital arts, installation, written and spoken word, and music.
Knowle West Media Centre is supported by Bristol City Council and supported using public funding by Arts Council England.
