Project Space
The Launderette
The Launderette — new Project Space in central Bristol
The Launderette is a dedicated and permanent project space, located in Stokes Croft, Bristol.
It offers a space to explore and test ideas through individual residencies, workshops and events, and facilitates opportunities for collaboration and transdisciplinary projects between artists and practices.
Founded by Helen Acklam in August 2023, it is a continuation of the The Garage (which closed in 2023) with some extra bits. We can now open in the evenings for events, and have a kitchen! The development of the project space is dependent on an organic process involving participating artists. The fundamental aim is to encourage activities that stimulate equality and inclusivity, generosity and sharing, conversation and connection with artists and the community in the region. See website for further details and application form.
