Sector Development
Visual Arts Plymouth
Visual Arts Plymouth is a creative sector steering group made up of independent artists and producers and representatives from key institutions.
Visual Arts Plymouth CIC is a group of arts professionals & independent artists from a range of visual arts & culture organisations across the city who work together to connect grassroots activity with a larger city-wide cultural plan and vision.
Through monthly meetings and project-led initiatives, members of the group (known as VAP CIC Activators) share knowledge, ideas, resources, energy and effort in order to effect change, with the aim of raising the profile and promoting the diverse range of arts activity happening in Plymouth.
Since 2015 VAP has been delivering the city-wide DIY arts festival Plymouth Art Weekender, which seeks to platform the creative talent of the city as well as provide opportunities for talent development for early to mid career artists from across the South West through commissioning and schemes such as Plymouth Platform.
