Unstable Monuments Bristol
Unstable Monuments is an artist-led project in the iconic former Magistrates Courts in Bridewell Street, Bristol
Unstable Monuments involves over 40 International and young Bristol artists exploring dissolution and change in a proactive and immersive exhibition. It is conceived and curated by Jesse Leroy Smith and Matthew Benington.
'Unstable Monuments' will be set within the historic, soon to be renovated former Magistrates Court in Bristol. It will celebrate the changing role of this landmark building from a place of sometimes rough justice to a venue offering hope and empowerment to Bristol's youth, as it takes on a new and important role as Creative Youth Network’s creative enterprise hub where creative businesses and young people can connect, create and develop alongside each other.
Participating artists are producing impressive works directly on site, with established artists presenting their works alongside young creatives. The immersive pre-renovation show is on 8-10 April 2022.
