AA2A

AA2A (Artists Access to Art Colleges) is a national artist residency programme established in 1996, connecting practising artists with further and higher education institutions across England. The programme gives artists access to specialist workshops, equipment, facilities and creative environments that can support the development of their professional practice. Opportunities are available across a broad range of disciplines, including fine art, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, photography, film and video, textiles, jewellery and metalwork, digital art, animation and other related creative practices. AA2A residencies typically run during the academic year and provide artists with a minimum of 100 hours of access to their host institution's facilities. Artists can develop new work, experiment with processes, use specialist equipment and engage with the wider academic and creative community. The programme is open to practising artists with at least one year of professional practice. Participating artists also have access to professional development and employability resources, and eligible artists can apply for support through the AA2A Artist Support Fund. AA2A works with universities and colleges across England, creating opportunities for artists to access resources and facilities while strengthening connections between professional artists and the further and higher education sectors.
